SIARGAONON LESSONS — LICENCE AND TERMS OF USE siargaononlessons.com Copyright (c) 2026 Joshua Podadera Gorgonio. All rights reserved. Siargaonon Lessons, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte, Philippines. This project is the work of a native Siargaonon speaker, made so that the language of Siargao Island is written down and not lost. What follows says plainly what you may and may not do with it. Different parts of this project carry different terms. They are set out separately below. 1. THE LANGUAGE RECORD (the word list, English meanings, usage notes, grammar rules, and the written explanations on this site) You MAY, freely and without asking: - use it to learn the language - use it to teach the language, including in a classroom - quote from it in conversation, study, research, or journalism, with credit to siargaononlessons.com You MAY NOT: - copy the word list or grammar notes in bulk and republish them, whether or not you charge for it - use them to build a competing product, dataset, app, or publication - scrape the site or the application programmatically This is a record of a living language compiled by one speaker. It reflects his own native usage. Other speakers, towns, and families may say things differently, and that does not make either wrong. 2. VOICE RECORDINGS (every audio file in /audio and any recording served by this project) All rights reserved. These are recordings of Joshua Podadera Gorgonio's voice, made specifically for this project. You may listen to them within this app or on this site. You may not download, extract, redistribute, re-host, sample, or include them in any other work, product, or dataset, for any purpose, commercial or otherwise. 3. SOFTWARE (the application source, the server functions, and the site templates) All rights reserved. This is not open-source software. No permission is given to copy, modify, reuse, or redistribute the code or any substantial part of it, or to create derivative works from it. Being able to read code your browser has downloaded does not grant a licence to reuse it. 4. CONTRIBUTIONS FROM OTHERS (words, corrections, and stories submitted through the app) Contributors keep ownership of what they send. They grant this project an ongoing, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to publish, edit, translate, record, and include their contribution in this and future versions. Contributions are credited where a name is given. Contributions form part of the free public dictionary. They are not sold separately and no payment is made for them. If you contributed something and want it removed, write to the address below and it will be taken down, subject to the practical limits of a shared record that others have since built on. 5. IF THIS PROJECT ENDS If this project is ever discontinued or left unmaintained, the language record described in section 1 will be released publicly under an open licence, so that the record outlives the project that gathered it. This promise covers the written record only. It does not extend to the voice recordings, the lessons, or the software. 6. NO WARRANTY This project is offered as-is, in good faith, by one person. No warranty of any kind is given, and no liability is accepted for any loss arising from its use. 7. PERMISSION AND CONTACT Requests for anything not permitted above — academic use, classroom materials, publication, partnership — are genuinely welcome and are usually granted. Ask. joshpg04@gmail.com
